Careers at Clarity

If you are at a point in your career where headhunters are calling with in-house positions, think about how great it would be to bring the resources of a law firm in-house with you. Through the VIP Program, Clarity offers the best of both worlds. Say good-bye to leverage models and billing quotas. Say hello to working directly with clients. And at the same time, join a team of thoughtful attorneys who will excite, support and challenge you.

There are two paths to joining Clarity, depending on your state's tax and professional liability rules: some attorneys join the firm directly, and some work as solo practitioners who sub-contract exclusively through the Clarity Attorney Network. Just as cloud computing services such as Google and Rackspace have liberated today's businesses from buying and maintaining their own computer servers, Clarity frees our clients from recruiting and training individual in-house attorneys. Instead, clients can immediately plug into the Clarity Attorney Network as a virtual in-house department.

As part of our firm or as a solo practitioner within the Clarity Attorney Network, you would represent a handful of clients as their designated go-to attorney while enjoying instant, on-going access to the collective knowledge of all Clarity's attorneys. This is a long-term solution for clients, and it's also a fantastic new option for attorneys. We’ve replaced the traditional senior-to-junior pyramid with a dynamic group of experienced mid-career attorneys. If you are ready and eager for more direct relationships with clients, yet appreciate the support of a broad-based law firm, Clarity might be the next logical step in your career.

Do you have what it takes?

A typical Clarity attorney has an academic record of demonstrated excellence (such as a JD from one of the top ten law schools in the U.S.) and significant experience at a world-class law firm. Our attorneys work closely in partnership with clients to contribute to their businesses in meaningful ways. Our attorneys often have passions outside of the law, whether it’s culinary school, community engagement, local politics, raising 3-year-old twins or writing the next bestseller—we strongly believe that passionate engagement with all that life has to offer will only inform and invigorate your professional work.

In keeping with this philosophy, we do not punish attorneys who prefer to work part-time. A serious attorney who works 30 hours a week is much more focused, efficient and valuable than a burnt-out attorney who grinds out 16 hours every day. When we consider attorney applications, the qualities we value most are: clear legal analysis, conscientious attention to detail, uncompromising ethical judgment, exceptional interpersonal skills and a lively, inquiring mind.
